I have worked for or with nonprofit organizations for about 16 years as a fund raising professional or as a consultant. For the last 4 years, I have been almost exclusively writing grants, with some work writing direct mail pieces and annual reports. Over the years, I have written technology strategic plans, annual plans, annual reports, promotional brochures, grant applications to private foundations and corporations, grant reports to private foundations and corporations, responses to requests for proposals to state, county, and city governments in 3 states, and applications to various federal entities. I have worked for organizations providing services in the areas of health care, youth development, homelessness, visual arts, criminal justice and historic properties, among others.
